September is Hispanic heritage month. Currently 71% of our students identify as Hispanic, celebrating different culture allows our students to learn about different cultural traditions and celebrate diversity. As way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage month this year, the following activities are planned:
- Monday September 18th- Mexican folkloric dances during lunch recess (Isabel and Alfredo will be performing)
- Monday September 18th- Judge Gutierrez (only Hispanic judge in the state of Idaho) speaking at Washington
- Coloring Competition- Students have been given coloring copies of eight different Hispanic American influential leaders. All students have the opportunity to participate in the coloring competition and have the chance to win a prize! Students have until Friday September 22 to submit their colored pages.
